How do I use car polish?
If you have picked out a good car polish and have no idea how to use it, you can follow the simple steps below:
- Clean your vehicle using a mild detergent and a gentle scrubber them wipe it dry
- Get your car indoors inside a garage to avoid sunlight as it may affect how much polish gets absorbed into the coat and leave a residue.
- Split your car into sections, doors, hood, etc. and polish a single section at a time
- If you have the manufacturer’s instructions, it is wise to follow them and get how much of the product to apply or spray on to each section.
Does car polish reduce the frequency of car washings?
Since polishes have a slippery nature, dirt particles won’t get stuck on your car and you, therefore, don’t need to take it to the car wash every time.
A simple wipe should do the trick. Plus, you are more careful with where you ride your car when it looks shiny and brand new.
In conclusion, it’s good to note that picking the right car detailing product will depend on the reason you need the wax in the first place.
You will have to determine whether you just need to hide those scratches and dents or you just want to make your car look shiny and brand new.
That is the only way to know if you need a product that emphasizes one quality as opposed to the other or even both.

Inasmuch as I really appreciate your reviews of each of these projects, I am still unsure as to which product to invest in. I have two sport-luxury vehicles, 07 MB CL550 and 13 Infiniti G37x Coupe. Both have metallic paint. The MB has a Designo color, Mocha Black. The Infiniti is Moonlight White Pearl. The MB has a few rings, and some “smudge marks” on the taillights. I want to remove those, for sure.
Any suggestions you have would be really helpful in making a decision.
Thank you.

What would work best on my travel trailer? It’s a smooth surface fiberglass exterior – not metal.
It’s a 2017 and is starting to “dull”.
I don’t have a buffer to use.
I would have to do the work by hand.
Something easy to use would be good.
Thanks.

I live in Ohio where we have all four seasons. Inwas looking at F11 but now u intrudes Adam’s and chemical guy. I have a few minor swirl marks and a light scratching on the drivers door. What do u recommend as the best for my climate? All these demos show sunny weather and I’m far from sunny. In a few months my poor 13 buick regal turbo with chrome trims will be covered in snow. Pls help so I can apply something soon.

Re: Chemical Guys: (Spoken in the french accent of the Spongebob Square Pants narrator)….”Three days later”.
Man, how long did he take to buff that one spot?
Erik says
Very good article and more useful than most online vague messes that never seem to address the point of their own title, let alone offer information we can use.
I have one gripe; on one if the chemical bros. products (the all in one stuff I believe), it first says it can take care of “serious scratches”, then a few paragraphs later claims it’s not for more than light swirls or scratches. For a guy without the money for new paint but still wants a beloved old car to look nice, this can be a bit maddening. Still, there’s plenty here to work with so I thank you and I’ll get to work as soon as I choose one.
Glen says
F11 is not a polish! Why would you compare these? Its like apples and oranges.
F11 is coating. The Chemical guys products you chose are polishes.
